Response to Juan Barroe: Chapter3, Biculturalism...

You are certainly on the right track IMO Juan, our students are in flux, as students, as community members and as adolescents...  How can we separate all that development for the learning process?  Well we really can't without sacrificing a majority of the impact of our teaching position.
Most of biculturalism is simplistic, there are really more than two cultures that are impacted in the case of our students...  The point is to be mindful of the students complex developmental and societal issues while maintaining the correct professional distance required to be ethical and efficient.  I have observed your class, and it was an honor to see a great young teacher sharing yourself and your wisdom from a place of integrity and care... Thanks for the opportunity to work for students if it was during a difficulty time...   Bob
